Important Features of a Soccer Jersey

Soccer teams are easily identified with their jerseys and their fans do their best to have such jerseys. As a soccer player or a manager for a soccer team, you definitely need jerseys for the game. There are features of jerseys that you cannot ignore. This will ensure that the players are comfortable while playing.

  • Quality

Quality is one thing that should never be compromised when buying soccer jerseys for your team. Quality makes a lot of difference in the comfort of the players and the longevity of the wear. It is shameful to fall while playing only for the jersey to be torn instantly. Invest in quality material and you will not be disappointed.

  • Work With a Budget

A kit for an entire club can be quite expensive when numbers and quality are considered. Despite this, it is important that you work with your budget to ensure that the purchase does not stress you.

  • Comfort

The jersey should neither be too loose nor too tight. This is because if it’s too tight or too loose, the player will not be comfortable as the movements will be restricted. If it’s too heavy, this will cause discomfort too. Comfort is of paramount importance as it plays a significant role on how the player performs. When a jersey fits well without causing discomfort, it looks appealing.

  • Ensure it is Easily Customized

Everyone is looking for something that they can easily customize. The jerseys that you buy for your team should be easy to customize. Since for the club they have the numbers and names engrossed in advance, if you want to do it yourself, the jerseys should be easy to customize.

  • Be Modern

As you purchase soccer jerseys, ensure that you are investing in the current models. You do not want your team to look outdated while competitors are shining in their kits.

  • Be Careful with the Designs

Most soccer teams have different kits. They have home, away and alternate kits that they wear. Do not mix them when purchasing or compromise the quality of any of them. All should be of great quality.

Whether you are a club manager, a football player or fan, you should purchase quality jerseys. Quality never disappoints as you can wear the jersey for a long time to come. The bottom line is that you have to purchase the right kit for your team.

Top 5 All-Time Legendary Sports Personalities

Over the years, the world has had the opportunity to witness some of the best sports athletes of all time. The following sports figure names have earned themselves legendary status over time.

1. Muhammad Ali

Perhaps one of the most celebrated sports personality of all times, Muhammad Ali set high standards for would-be boxers. His greatest quote that resonates throughout the world says “I’m not the greatest; I’m the double greatest.

He was bestowed “Fighter of the Year” title by Ring Magazine cementing his place in history books.

2. Pele

His full name was Edison Arantes do Nascimento or simply Pele. Pele is arguably the best soccer player the world has seen. Pele is the only football player to be part of three winning World Cup teams playing for Brazil. He scored well over a thousand goals, 1281, to be specific in his illustrious careers. His world cup winning medals were won in 1958, 1962 and 1966.

His trophy collection and accomplishments include the best young player in the World Cup, Silver boot and ball in the 1958 FIFA World Cup and much more. Pele had a goal per game ratio and is the all-time Brazilian goal scorer, a feat that is still unmatched and probably won’t be broken.

3. Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin remains the greatest batsmen the world has seen. He was part of the Indian Cricket team that won the 2011 world cup held in India. He is the only cricket player to have scored thirty thousand runs in his career and has participated in 200 test matches. He retired from cricket in 2013.

Early in his life, Sachin took on cricket at the age of 11 and went onto have a successful 24 year run in cricket. Among his achievements is the Bharat Ratna awards which are Indian’s highest civilian awards for his great sports career. He is the only player to score 100 international centuries and is still the only cricketer to score a double century in an international.

4. Michael Schumacher

The German is one of the greatest Formula One driver of all time. In 1995, Schumacher becomes the youngest world champion for the double formula one race. He was a Formula One champion for seven good years dating back to 1994 where he started off with Benetton and won two consecutive championships.

He would later move to Ferrari and won back to back titles from 2000-20014. For eleven years with Ferrari, Schumacher won an unprecedented five times. His honors included the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year in 2002 and 2004 and the FIA Gold Medal for Motor Sports in 2006.

5. Usain Bolt – “Lightning Bolt”

The Jamaican has had an illustrious career winning numerous medals in all international stages in a short span of time. Rugby in Australia

Everywhere around the world, the word Rugby is used to describe the sport of Rugby Union. However in Australia Rugby League is so much more prominent, especially in Sydney.

The sport of Rugby League in Australia currently has 16 teams and they are spread around the country as follows:

  • NSW: 10 teams
  • QLD: 3 teams
  • VIC: 1 Team
  • ACT: 1 team
  • NZ: 1 Team

As you can see the teams are heavily weighted on the east coast of Australia, so much so that the sport has branched off to New Zealand to incorporate a team from this neighboring country into the competition.

Even out of the 10 teams from NSW, 9 come from Sydney, with one from Newcastle just a couple hours North. This is mainly due to the fact that Australian Rugby League was professionally born in Sydney back around 1907.

From then many teams have come and gone and the sport has gone many changes. Branching out of Sydney the sport introduced teams from WA, SA, VIC, North and South QLD and NZ. Since then only the QLD, VIC and NZ teams survived. The main reason I believe that the SA and WA teams could not make it is due to the largely popular sport of AFL in these cities and states.

AFL it huge in VIC and other states in Australia. After all its hard not to be patriot about a sport that has Australia in it name! Australian Football League stands strong Australia wide however it only has one team in Sydney as Sydney is dominated by Rugby League.

We often find leading sportsmen of the game looking for bigger and better things and these top players of the sport are often poached by international sports by the lure of more money. We have seen this time and time again where leading sport stars of Rugby League try the hand at Gridiron or even Rugby Union. However the most common occurrence when this happens is that the players find the new sport too unnatural for them. They need to learn new strategies and develop new instincts in this foreign game play.

Going from the top of their field to a complete newbie in a higher paid sport can be very intimidating and often sends the money hungry sportsmen back to their original location. Welcomed back by their fans who often forgive them when they come back they hopefully have some more money in their pocket  for the trial and the greater understanding that this is where they and their skill belong.

A great example of this was with internationally famous basketballer – Michael Jordan. At the peak of his career he was looking for a new challenge and undoubtedly a larger paycheck. Changing sports from Basketball to Baseball may be a hard decision to understand. For me the only similarities are they both start with the letter B! Well he went for it anyway and to no-one’s surprise came crawling back to his original successful position on the Chicago Bulls.

Of course his fans loved him even more and he was praised for trying something new however we all knew that his real talent was with B-Ball.
