OX Platinum

OX Platinum is a proprietary superthermophillic (heat-loving) alloy, developed in partnership with the U.S. Steel Alliance. The composition of Chromium, Molybdenum, and Vanadium with an unprecedented 217 ksi ultimate tensile strength makes this alloy actually gain strength through a metallurgical transformation in the heat-affected zone as a result of welding or brazing. OX Platinum is highly temper-resistant, resulting in an 11% increase in fatigue life and a 20% increase in impact strength over the competition. The increased mechanical properties of OX Platinum allow for incredibly strong, yet lightweight frame designs with that legendary feel of steel ride quality.

Versus

Versus is the benchmark that all other materials are measured against, Verus tubing has an ultimate tensile strength of 120 ksi, more than twice the strength of current aluminum alloys. Stress relieving the tubes removes the residual stresses created in forming any tubing structure. The result of this is a higher life than standard annealed tubing, incredible stiffness, liveliness, low weight, and the “feel of steel.”

Versus HT Double Butted

True Temper Verus HT tubing is precision butted heat-treated 4130 chromium molybdenum with unbelievable yield strength up to 175ksi. This increase in strength allows for smaller profile tubing, dramatically reducing the weight compared to stress relieved tubing. True Temper heat treatment results in microscopic fine-grained martensite formation, which increases the strength, hardness, and durability of the tube. Each tube has been designed from the ground up and heat-treated to specific levels to impart very specific characteristics and properties. True Temper Verus HT tubing has the perfect blend of stiffness, strength, ductility, and low weight, while retaining the classic “feel of steel.”
